Outrigger Waikiki Begins $18 Million Upgrade

HONOLULU, OAHU–The 45-year-old, 524-room Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach Hotel here has undertaken an extensive renovation valued at $18 million.

Upgrades to the property, which is part of the Outrigger Enterprises Group, include a new outdoor swimming pool and pool deck area, new elevators, improved guestroom sound proofing for added privacy, new guestroom carpet, furniture, and drapery, and new glass balcony railings on oceanfront rooms. The new railings are designed to help ensure unobstructed ocean views.

Since the hotel's swimming pool is not available for use while improvements are underway, the hotel has arranged for guests to be able to use the swimming pools at two other nearby Outrigger-managed hotels, the Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort and the Outrigger Reef on the Beach.

The Outrigger Enterprises Group operates and or has under development 45 properties with close to 11,000 rooms located in Hawaii, Australia, Guam, Fiji, Thailand, Vietnam; and Hainan Island, China.
